Why does it differ from my bank's rate?
This is the market mid-rate. Banks, exchange houses and wallets use their own buy/sell rates and add fees, so real transactions will differ. Check the provider's rate before large transfers.
How can expatriates use it for remittance?
Convert from SAR, AED, KWD, MYR, GBP or EUR to taka to get an idea of the amount. What you actually receive depends on the channel's rate and fees.
Does it show open-market (kerb) rates?
No. It uses international mid-market rates; open-market rates may differ.
How often do rates change?
The source updates once a day and our site refreshes it every few hours. If live rates are unavailable, the last known rates are shown and clearly labelled.
